Wii Sports

EA take note. This is how sports games should be.

Platform: Wii
Developed by: Nintendo
Published by: Nintendo
Genre: Sport
Multiplayer: Yes
Online play/feature: No
Controls: Wii remote (and nunchuk)

Pros and Cons:
+ Mii compatible
+ Revolutionary controls
+ Fun varied multiplayer
- A bit simple

This is probably the first Wii game you played and a perfect display of the Wii’s controls.
There are five sports games in this little package. Tennis, baseball, bowling, golf and boxing. They all make use of the Wii remotes capabilities are all pretty fun to play. I could describe the controls but I don’t need to. In tennis, you hit the ball in a swinging motion as you would. In golf, you swing the club like you would. It’s that simple. The whole family will get up and try. Even Gran. There’s only one or two game modes for each sport but you’ll end up playing them over and over by yourself and with your family. Personally, my favourite is golf, the physics are very good and it‘s great competitive fun in multiplayer.
Most of the games require only one wiimote (packaged with a the Wii) apart from tennis and boxing (which needs 2 wiimotes and nunchuks). The worst sport for me was boxing, it was the least fun to play and you needed additional nunchuks aswell as remotes making it less accessible. There’s also a training mode and a fitness mode to hone your skills and it will keep you occupied for quite a while. This is one of the most mainstream games on any console and will go down in history as one of the most revolutionary videogames (and best selling Wii game).

Animal Crossing DS Review

Animal Crossing is a Game with a lot of playability, options and customisation.
I would reccomend the Wii version if you have the money and if you want a better online and offline experience which comes out December 5th 2008.

Advance Wars: Dark Conflict

A fantastic turn-based strategy that hasn’t changed much has made things a lot more balanced, has cool new features and not forgetting the online multiplayer.

Links Crossbow Training

A fun yet short-lived shooter. It doesn’t quite live up to price and the graphics were taken straight from Twilight princess, lazy.

42 All Time Classics

A good selection of games in a bargain package, but more appealing to elderly audience and the online multiplayer isn’t very well organized.

Not just the best game on the Wii but the best Zelda game on any console hands down.
